The 28-Day Fresh Start

Today, I want to say a word about the 28-day Fresh Start. It is said, “You can do anything for 28 days.” And the health benefits of a whole foods, plant-based diet can be seen in 28 days . . . or less.  You will see changes in the way you look and feel in one week and notice significant changes within three weeks — after 28 days, you will look fit and feel fabulous. If you don’t, you can quit, plain and simple.

I dropped 8 pounds in less than three weeks (15 and counting, since then). In the past, before my “awakening” (see my earlier post) to the plant-strong diet, even though I could get really tired at night, I always woke up refreshed, after a good night’s sleep. But in the past year, I found I was waking up tired and really dragging through the day — I even looked tired and worn out. Not a good way to look or feel. I knew in my heart, I was just not eating right: I was not getting enough nutrition. One of the first things I noticed when I went plant-strong, was that I no longer woke up tired and I had more energy through the day. This result was almost immediate, once my body realized, “Hey, something is different!”

My son, T4 (see my About page) who habitually sneezes after every meal, stopped sneezing when he started drinking juiced vegetables and eating less animal-based foods. Awhile back I read this chronic sneezing after meals could be related to food allergies and/or some sort of nerve irritation. The first time I talked to him about it being food allergies, his response was, “Well, I’m not going to stop eating what I enjoy.” And the nerve thing is  like, “What can you do about that?” I’m happy to report, you CAN do something about that, after all.

My son also has chronic reflux and almost buys Maalox in bulk. With just a moderate change in his diet, reducing animal-based foods and increasing intake of healthy foods, the reflux went away. Now, when he goes back to eating the old way, the sneezing and reflux come back. It’s like a light switch, on and off. And it didn’t take 28 days to see the result: the result was almost immediate.

It’s relatively easy to make a few changes and see big results.

More to come on the 28-Day Fresh Start and HOW to live plant-strong.

Hi Katie, Please, don’t feel intimidated. Once you catch the vision it is not hard at all. Watch for our upcoming posts, for me later today and my guest blogger tomorrow. We want to make it do-able, even for those within families. What are your particular goals?

At first, I thought “There is no way I can do this! I have a family and a picky husband!” I knew I couldn’t get my family on board until I had tried for myself. Now I’m 11 days into it and feeling great! I have lost 2 1/2 pounds (which I have 20 lbs to lose), I feel great, and I am finding that I don’t crave sugar (me not crave sugar? That is huge!)
